In the works

I’ve been working this week on Krissy’s story (which has a different name on the two contests, and will likely have a yet different name before it is officially sub’d anywhere). Some of the feedback I’ve received on the BFM scoring suggests that the conflict was unclear. I know there was a great external conflict coming (still is, ha) but I wasn’t happy myself with the internal conflict – they’re both happy being unattached, and Krissy doesn’t like secrets. So I spent a few days working out a deeper emotional story arc, then melding that with the external conflict; I think it’s a lot stronger now.Also found out that first round judging for Passionate Ink’s “Stroke of Midnight” contest doesn’t end until March 31st, so I should have plenty of time to finish the first draft just in case (!) it makes it to round two.

RWA still hasn’t processed my membership applications; they ‘will be processed in the next week or so’. Nice. Think maybe conference registration week wasn’t the time to integrate a total database overhaul? Haven’t been able to register for conference myself yet, since I don’t have my RWA number, and the whole point of joining was to get the lower conference rate.

Weekends goal – 3000 words between now and Monday. Giving myself a break because I haven’t seen my husband much the last few days, and it’s Super Bowl weekend.
