My first conference!

Posted by Ember C.  Published in Industry

Only 2 days away from my first writers conference – First Coast Romance Writers “Southern Lights Conference”.
Assuming I can get this glitch with babysitting worked out, it should be a great 2 days. There’s several authors attending I’m looking forward to workshops from (Joan Johnston and Tracy Montoya among them), and I’ve got an [...]

Authors, we need you.

Posted by Ember C.  Published in Writing

Authors, we need you. No, really.
One of the biggest questions that everyone wants to know, but no one wants to talk about, is those cold, hard numbers. How big are your sales, how high your advance, what’s that payout for your work.
Brenda Hiatt keeps the only actual listing I know of at her website. [...]

Wordcounts

Posted by Ember C.  Published in Writing

Art of Desire keeps growing on me. I’ve still got two more scenes to write – now maybe three – and I’m just a few words shy of 14,000.
It’s not a bad thing. I just keep finding little bits that need to be told. It’s been fun, finding those bits the last [...]

Officially, a member of RWA

Posted by Ember C.  Published in Writing

After nearly two months, my RWA membership finally went through this past weekend. There was another short snafu with my password – and someone was burning the late night oil at the office, since they reset it at 8:30 on a Friday night – and then I finally was able to get in [...]

March roars in

Posted by Ember C.  Published in Life, Writing

Time waits for no man. Or woman. So while I feel swamped with projects to start, work on, or finish, the days keep rolling by.
Wednesday I started edits on Art of Desire. They’re coming along great – much better than Krissy’s story is. I’m feeling guilty for leaving Krissy hanging (actually, [...]

To be matter-of-fact about the world is to blunder into fantasy - and dull fantasy at that, as the real world is strange and wonderful. ~ Robert A. Heinlein

Ember Case

Hi - I'm Ember Case. I'm an author of erotic romances. Paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, historical - I love them all.

I'm also a wife, a mom, a small business owner, and a passionate volunteer to various organizations, including several chapters of the Romance Writers of America.

I'm probably off somewhere tapping at the keyboard, and wishing I could convince the kids that "Just a sec hun" really means "Go ask your dad."
