Only 2 days away from my first writers conference – First Coast Romance Writers “Southern Lights Conference”.
Assuming I can get this glitch with babysitting worked out, it should be a great 2 days. There’s several authors attending I’m looking forward to workshops from (Joan Johnston and Tracy Montoya among them), and I’ve got an appointment with Madris Gutierrez from New Concepts Publishing.
I was going to skip the Editor / Agent appointment part altogether – neither of the agents who are attending represent the full scope of what I write, and the other editor is Melissa Jeglinski, Sr. Editor of Silhouette Desire. While I’d love to pitch Melissa in a few months, right now I don’t have anything to send to her. So, I’ll wait and hope to get an appointment in July. Or sometime in the future. NCP is a well known epub, and I *do* have a story that may fit there already. So I’ll see how that goes.
And I’m very glad to be getting my feet wet with this before Nationals. This is a much smaller conference – better to get over my nervousness with a small group than lost in the melee.
Come on babysitters, don’t let me down.
