Sometimes you run into brick walls – circumstances you can’t change, people with an agenda, combinations of misinformation and ignorance you just can’t get over and you have to go around. You can try to educate them, but eventually the path you take around that wall – and whether you’re smiling or bitching when you get to the other side – these are totally up to you.
My son’s “best friend” is moving away next week. This friend already lives 45 minutes away, so we don’t get together that often, but he’s going to miss him at school this fall. It’s tough to say goodbye.

There’s a new Barbie movie coming out – Barbie as The Island Princess. There has been much begging at the grocery store for Barbie cereal, Barbie poptarts, Barbie granola bars, Barbie juice boxes, and everything else they’ve tied in to the movie. And the movie doesn’t even release until Sept. 18. Wonder if they can send me to The Island.
