Today is the first day of RWA National Conference. No, I’m not there. I keep telling myself I’m not sad at missing it – maybe by the time it’s over, I’ll even believe it. It would help if I were getting a lot of productivity out of my forced stay-at-home session, but I’ve scraped a mere 1000 words out the last two days.
My attempt to convince myself that no one is having fun in Dallas sent me off to Blogging National. Then I remembered that last year? I was Blogging National. So that didn’t help.
Then I headed over to the brand spankin’ new RWA official conference blog, with a welcome from president Jill Limber. I spent a few minutes poking around the new RWA site . I’m impressed so far – it is a hugongously vast ginormous improvement over the last one. That was entertaining for a few minutes, but it couldn’t distract me for long.
I was hoping to find the announcement re: Rita/GH and PAN decisions that was made at the board meeting, but evidently “noon” doesn’t mean EST time zone, but probably Texas Time.
So probably I should get off the self pity boat and get some work done, instead of compulsively checking back to see if anyone’s having fun in Texas?
