Princess had a good Trick-or-Treat night, collecting two buckets worth of goodies in about 90 minutes of begging. This is the first time her dad’s been home to do the door-to-door thing for the full round-the-neighborhood trip (trivia shows, his radio gig, and other sports related commitments kept him busy every Halloween the past 5 years), so you can believe I took advantage of the chance to sit home and keep my butt on the couch most of the night. Not quite as glamorous as it sounds; there was much laundry to be folded.
We had around a dozen groups of kids come to the door, less than 50 kids altogether. Despite having oodles of candy, I gave out what is probably the strangest “treat” in the neighborhood – a Huggies Pullup.
And it was appreciated >G<
A little darling in a fairy costume, probably all of 11 months old, peed through her costume as I was stuffing her treat bag with suckers. The poor mom got more of a trick than she bargained for. I was glad I’d picked yesterday to give up on the “let’s try to stay dry through the night” experiment – after three nights in a row of 1am linen changes – and bought a new pack of Overnights when I picked up a pumpkin.
Everyone else had to make due with Kit Kats and suckers, mixed with some Jolly Ranchers and Starburst.
Hubby starts back at the sales job today. They called himtwo days ago, and after a day of discussion they agreed on terms that make them both very happy.
I’m torn between worry – this job wears him out, coming on top of his full time tournament position – and relief – looks like we’ve got to rebuild two bathrooms (and pay for it). I’ll have more on my House of Mold Horror Tales tomorrow…
