Hubby took the princess with him on an overnight trip to Orlando, and it has left my house disturbingly quiet for the past 28 hours. I wish almost daily for a bit more quiet, a bit less “Mommy I need”, a bit of time to hear myself think. This weekend I have it. And I’ve spent way too much of that time wondering why my house is so damn quiet.
It’s been a good day though. Last night, teenager and I had a (quiet) dinner at Outback. Nothing but the sound of us chewing, and a chorus of “excuse me”s as he tried to figure out where to put his rapidly growing legs under a two top without bumping into me. We came home and retreated to our pc’s, and met up in front of the TV for a nice family movie a while later. 300 is good solid family entertainment, right? We both pretended we weren’t watching the sex scene, relaxing and breathing normally when the action returned to blood, guts, and death.
I’ve gotten a good chunk of work done on my wip (and am going to get in some more after I take a quick break). Demolition of the master bathroom happened yesterday. We’ve moved on to the “de-mold” stage now. With the drywall down, I’m spraying the studs with a bleach solution that has already killed most of the spores. A few more days of spritzing and we’ll be ready to get into rebuilding.
I’m going to put these last few hours of quiet to work as the weekend winds down. Hope you had a great one!
