Book Giveaway, Rain and Rally

It’s a rainy Saturday here.  I’ve got nothing against rain, now that my roof is once again watertight.  (Fay put it to a pretty good test, so I’m not afraid to tempt the fates by saying that.)  But there’s this little outdoor thing going on today that I’m taking 3 kids to, and I’m kind of hoping the rain is going to find its way out of here before we head downtown.

My son and his buddy are pretty excited to get to see their political hero in person.  I’m just as excited, partly about seeing Obama myself, but mostly at seeing the two of them stretching their political wings.  My daughter probably won’t be nearly as excited, especially if we have the expected 2 hour wait (possibly in the rain) before the event starts.  I’m pretty sure she’ll ultimately forget it if I take her out for ice cream when it’s over.
