The first full week of 2009 is behind me, and what a week it was.
Reading – I loved, loved, loved Robin L Rotham’s “BIG Temptation”, my first read of the year. Barret George is one of those heroes you will drool over (hopefully not into your keyboard). The opening scene reaches out and grabs your heart, and Robin never quite lets you have it back until the last page is read. Nothing else has been quite as good (some of the books I’ve read are linked up in the menu bar, although I’ve got some web funkiness keeping that list out of date at the moment – Library Thing has the full list). Right now I’m in the middle of an anthology called Unwrap Me with Susan Lyons, Melissa MacNeal, and Melissa Randall. Susan’s story was smoking hot. And I love novellas – they’re the perfect length for a night when staying up long enough to finish a complete novel would have me bleary eyed in the morning. But I also have a real hard time putting anything down half finished.
Watching– Criminal Minds still. But I’ve finished all the back seasons (1-3), and am catching Season 4 as it airs on CBS. They’re airing the second episode from Season 4 tonight, so yay, new-to-me! The first season of NCIS is next up on the Netflix queue. I didn’t start watching until somewhere around the middle of season 2 so that should keep me distracted on the treadmill for a few weeks.
Workouts – blech. Only got on the treadmill twice this week. Must do better next week.
Music – Nothing new this week; I’ve been listening to some of the workshops from the F SRWA conference when I have time. I did finally take the Christmas music off my iPhone (most of it – Straight, No Chaser is still on there.)
Writing – I was out of the house most of the week and didn’t get much writing done, but I did put in about an hour with some rewrites Thursday. I’ll be wrapping those up by Tuesday, so I can finish up MCW. I’d hoped to start the second elf novella when MCW is done, but a completely different story has been taunting me the last week or so. Guess I’ll decide which story to stuff into a closet and which one to let breath when I get to it.

Hey, you’re reading Unwrap Me! I’m so glad you enjoyed my novella. I had a lot of fun writing it, especially once my hero came up with the idea of 12 sexy days of Christmas.
