My daughter just told me it’s February first. This startled me for two reasons – when did she become calendar conscious? When did I become not?
So January is over. As months go, it was a good one. There was A Sale (still happy there). I got some good words on screen. Several friends had great books release, or have them under contract – including a few that have their first contracts with Samhain. This makes me happy. Then there was Inauguration Day, another great spot of happiness and hope (a word that has become so overused I’ve begun to feel corny for even typing it.)
February usually passes faster than a blink here. We’ve got cold weather now, which makes for good snuggle up inside and get things done days. But by the end of the month we’ll be starting to look like spring. Golf season officially starts this week, and the pace of things will pick up.

Reading – I’m in a bit of a rut. Nothing has hit me with the WOW stick this week. I’ve spent the last three nights randomly opening books and trying to get sucked in, but nothing has done it for me. Suggestions?
Watching – Last night I watched “Where The Truth Lies”. (Warning : Do NOT attempt to watch this with your kids in the room. Or your parents. Or anyone else it will bother you to be in the room with while watching Kevin Bacon very graphically getting it on with more than one hot thing. Then there’s the female on female scene.) The movie? Really very good, once my son left the room and I could enjoy it. I was surprised by the end, which is usually a plus.
Workouts – Treadmill 3 days this week. Go, me.
Music – This week it’s been a lot of Springsteen and Clapton.
Writing – A third of the way through My Christmas Wish. Hoping to get it finished before edits for Flawed come in, but we’ll see how fast the edits hit my inbox.
