My daughter has been in art camp for about half the summer. We’ve had some ups (fun field trips) and some downs (a few of the older kids weren’t playing so nice, and we had to request a meeting with the administrators to sort things out). But overall it’s been a good thing for her, and I think she’s had some fun.
Her being in camp has given me a chance to stay almost on top of work and writing. Not so much on top of cooking and cleaning. Tonight I’m running through the house like a crazy person, trying to make up for 5 days of neglect while I pack.
Pack. Right – I’m hitting the road tomorrow. Family time! Can’t wait to see everyone. I hear there will be chocolate and wine. Oh wait, I said I’d bring wine. Must remember to bring wine. And bourbon.
There’s a great article at the Washington Post from Ron Charles. He received an award from RWA at the conference last week, and seemed shocked to hear his blog post had been selected for an award. It’s an interesting look at how someone outside the writers world saw the mood at conference.
That’s all I’ve got today. For you at least. I’ve got lots of laundry and dishes and garbage and a litter box in a shameful state, but I’m guessing you don’t want any part of that. Can’t blame you; neither do I.
I’ll be twittering from the road, pics included!
