I blogged over at Beyond the Veil yesterday about my lack of inspiration. If you didn’t stop by then and give me a kick in the pants, it’s not to late to get your shot in.
Music was a repeated suggestion, so I worked on playlists last night. Since the Great Hard Drive Failure of the Fall, my music has been a big stinking mess, spread across no less than 8 hard drives – only 6 of which are in actual machines – and a box of CD’s. I made a big step to getting that organized last night, and got some nice playlists on my Phone.
And speaking of the new phone – what am I supposed to call this thing when people see it and ask what it is? With the iPhone, I rarely had to say, but if I did I could say iPhone and pretty much everyone knew what it was. Google Phone sounds weird. Superphone sounds like I’m trying too hard. Nexus One sounds like I’ve been watching too much Star Trek. Or reading too much Zelazny, but anyone geeky enough to know who Zelazny is probably is geeky enough to know what kind of phone I have no matter what I call it. This thing needs a nickname.
N1? GP? Slick?

I’m at Beyond the Veil today, talking about my dread of the author photo. Picture included.
And now that I’ve put that behind me, I’m going back in the writing cave. It’s safe in there; no cameras allowed unless I’m the one taking the pictures.

I’m blogging over at Beyond the Veil today about the Fantasy books I grew up loving. Come tell me what you loved (and if you ever had a thing for Frodo, fess up so I don’t feel quite so odd in my pre-teen crush) to read .

I’m blogging over at Beyond The Veil today. Mostly about flaws – and Flawed! – and there’s a not quite gratuitous shot of shot of David Beckham in Armani underwear if you want a peak of that to get you going.
And Tina Burns is blogging over at the Divas blog today. Good stuff – come check it out!
Took the kiddo’s to see Coraline last night. Future World Leader was bribed with candy and pizza. He also sat a row behind and to the right of us. It just isn’t Cool to go to the movies with mom and your little sister on a Friday night, even if you’re getting candy and pizza out of it. Princess loved it. She thought she might be a bit freaked out for about an hour after it was over (buttons are really, really creepy) but she made it through the night without nightmares. And she wants to go see it again – the theater we went to didn’t have it in 3D, and she really really wants to see it in 3D. So we may go again next weekend. I loved it. Great animation, fabulous story, awesomeness all the way around. And I’ve got such a fangirl crush on Neil Gaiman.
My coffee cup is empty. The treadmill is waiting. And Princess wants to play with Moon Sand. Since it’s “Clean the Kitchen” day today, it’s as good a day as any (and better than most) to get that mess out.
And hubby comes home tomorrow from his trip! Yay!!!!!
There aren’t enough days in the weekend. ~Rod Schmidt

Winter came back during the night. It isn’t supposed to stay for long, but right now it’s cold and properly Januaryish outside my windows.
Princess is hoping it warms up quickly. We’d planned on some time at the park this morning. They added new equipment while she was recovering from her broken wrist, and she wasn’t allowed to play on it while she healed. Every time we drive past the park she’s wistfully commented that she can’t wait to be allowed to play on it. So today is park day.
I’m over at Beyond the Veil today, talking about more strange lights in the sky. Come tell me what you think of the sightings – this time with wind turbine damage – in the UK.

To be matter-of-fact about the world is to blunder into fantasy - and dull fantasy at that, as the real world is strange and wonderful. ~ Robert A. Heinlein
I'm also a wife, a mom, a small business owner, and a passionate volunteer to various organizations, including several chapters of the Romance Writers of America.
I'm probably off somewhere tapping at the keyboard, and wishing I could convince the kids that "Just a sec hun" really means "Go ask your dad."
