What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called?
Ann. I wouldn’t change any of my names (despite a period in 5th grade when I was convinced I needed to be called Carrie). My parents picked them for me, and they stayed away from anything truly outrageous, so I think I can proudly carry the name they chose and know that they put a lot of thought into it.

If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most?
After close to 15 years working at home, it’s comfort all the way. Soft fabrics that are comfortable enough to lounge in but nice enough to wear out when I need to put on my public face – soft jersey, cotton, knits and denim. I’m a fan of the basics – black, white, red, dressed up with the right shoes or belt or sparkley. Style – casual. Very. Jeans and a black t, or a white pullover. Black Capri’s. Something with enough give at the waist and in the knees to sit yoga style or bend over and not feel your showing the world parts of your body you really didn’t intend to share today. I probably wouldn’t have a very popular line

What is your least favorite chore, and why?
Bathrooms. No one else in the house seems to care if they are disgusting, and they’ll get truly hideous if I don’t take care of them.

What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?
I hate the idea of being afraid. Of admitting that something scares me. So I don’t let anything scare me, just to prove how tough I am. Boy, an analyst would probably have a lot of fun with that one – I have no idea where it comes from. I just can’t remember when I was last really afraid of something . I worry sometimes – about the kids, the husband, the usual daily grind. But even worry seems usually to be a waste of energy and emotion that could be better spend thinking of the possible positive outcomes in a bad situation, and how to get there.

Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment.
At my desk. I see my coffee cup, my external hard drive, and the laundry I sorted out sitting in front of the dryer waiting for the latest load to dry so I can move it along.
