I’m blogging over at Beyond The Veil today. Mostly about flaws – and Flawed! – and there’s a not quite gratuitous shot of shot of David Beckham in Armani underwear if you want a peak of that to get you going.

And Tina Burns is blogging over at the Divas blog today. Good stuff – come check it out!

Took the kiddo’s to see Coraline last night. Future World Leader was bribed with candy and pizza. He also sat a row behind and to the right of us. It just isn’t Cool to go to the movies with mom and your little sister on a Friday night, even if you’re getting candy and pizza out of it. Princess loved it. She thought she might be a bit freaked out for about an hour after it was over (buttons are really, really creepy) but she made it through the night without nightmares. And she wants to go see it again – the theater we went to didn’t have it in 3D, and she really really wants to see it in 3D. So we may go again next weekend. I loved it. Great animation, fabulous story, awesomeness all the way around. And I’ve got such a fangirl crush on Neil Gaiman.

My coffee cup is empty. The treadmill is waiting. And Princess wants to play with Moon Sand. Since it’s “Clean the Kitchen” day today, it’s as good a day as any (and better than most) to get that mess out.

And hubby comes home tomorrow from his trip! Yay!!!!!

There aren’t enough days in the weekend. ~Rod Schmidt

And then it was Saturday

I’ve had family in town for 5 wonderful days.  Which makes me both  very productive – must not let dishes pile up in sink!  Litter box requires daily cleaning!  Cook, cook, cook, all those yummy dishes my kids won’t usually eat and my husband turns up his nose at, and very lazy – if I’m not acting like the perfect chef / housekeeper, I’m probably sitting with my feet up in the tv room chatting and surfing.  Like now.

Mom got a laptop, so we’re a 4 laptop family now (mom, dad, baby brother, me).  My husband just shakes his head and keeps on walking.  Except when he’s taking my baby brother out for football and bringing him back in a very “happy” slurred  state of mind.  I don’t get any writing done with 4-6 people in the room, but I’ve caught up on my blogroll and done some file maintenance on my laptop.  Good stuff.

Baby brother put up my tree and strung my lights yesterday, giving me an amazing amount of depth, brilliance, and Christmas spirit in my little corner of the holiday.  The kids and I hung the ornaments, and we’ll decorate the mantle, front hall, and knick knack parts today.  Christmas time is here!  About a third of the ornaments  can’t be hung this year – hello, curious kitten, why are you climbing my tree?  Because you can?  I need to buy water guns.

My chocolate muffins are ready, and I’m ready for a coffee refill.  Happy Saturday!

(Baby brother is 22, so any slurred states of mind are entirely legal. And hubby found out yesterday that the 22 year old can bounce back much, much faster the next day.)

A little bit of love

Meet Princess Fluffy. Or, Lord Fluffington. Or, Fluffy. Everyone in the family seems to have named him something different.
Princess, Day 1
The 5 year old girl who owns him, she would much appreciate it if her father and brother would stop giving her kitten new names. The men in the house just have a tiny issue with calling a boy cat “Princess”.

To be matter-of-fact about the world is to blunder into fantasy - and dull fantasy at that, as the real world is strange and wonderful. ~ Robert A. Heinlein

Ember Case

Hi - I'm Ember Case. I'm an author of erotic romances. Paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, historical - I love them all.

I'm also a wife, a mom, a small business owner, and a passionate volunteer to various organizations, including several chapters of the Romance Writers of America.

I'm probably off somewhere tapping at the keyboard, and wishing I could convince the kids that "Just a sec hun" really means "Go ask your dad."
