I’m blogging over at Beyond The Veil today. Mostly about flaws – and Flawed! – and there’s a not quite gratuitous shot of shot of David Beckham in Armani underwear if you want a peak of that to get you going.

And Tina Burns is blogging over at the Divas blog today. Good stuff – come check it out!

Took the kiddo’s to see Coraline last night. Future World Leader was bribed with candy and pizza. He also sat a row behind and to the right of us. It just isn’t Cool to go to the movies with mom and your little sister on a Friday night, even if you’re getting candy and pizza out of it. Princess loved it. She thought she might be a bit freaked out for about an hour after it was over (buttons are really, really creepy) but she made it through the night without nightmares. And she wants to go see it again – the theater we went to didn’t have it in 3D, and she really really wants to see it in 3D. So we may go again next weekend. I loved it. Great animation, fabulous story, awesomeness all the way around. And I’ve got such a fangirl crush on Neil Gaiman.

My coffee cup is empty. The treadmill is waiting. And Princess wants to play with Moon Sand. Since it’s “Clean the Kitchen” day today, it’s as good a day as any (and better than most) to get that mess out.

And hubby comes home tomorrow from his trip! Yay!!!!!

There aren’t enough days in the weekend. ~Rod Schmidt

Three years as a Diva

Posted by Ember C.  Published in Romance Divas

Three years ago, I was thinking about my dreams.  Mostly, my dream of writing.  For years I’d dreamed that one day, I’d be a published author.  That other people would enjoy my writing enough to want to read it.  But I’d made only one half hearted attempt at pursuing that dream, an attempt quickly abandoned in the busy days of early marriage (and the pregnancy that soon followed).

Then three years ago today, I found Romance Divas.

There, I found hundreds (hundreds that have grown to thousands) of other women with the same dream.  We come from every corner of the world, and cross many genres and cultures in our writing and in our lives.  But we share a passion for words, and the need to push ourselves every day to be the best writer we each can be.

It was at Divas that I entered my first writing contest (which I finaled in!), received my first request for a manuscript (through that first contest), began to learn how to defeat my own writing bugaboos – especially a god-awful mangling of Point Of View I didn’t even realize I had a problem with.  I’ve met some of the most generous, warm hearted people in the world, each more supportive than the next.  And in that three years I sold my first manuscript, and had the encouragement of the Divas every step of the way from contract to celebration of best seller lists.

Thank you Divas.  For the encouragement and laughter, hugs and tears.  For the chat room when I need a challenge, and the goals threads when I need a kick in the ass.  For the workshops presented by old heroes and new favorites, and the chance to learn from writers who have walked this path before (and alongside) me.

So big, wet, sloppy hugs to all the Divas.  My writing wouldn’t be the same without you!

To be matter-of-fact about the world is to blunder into fantasy - and dull fantasy at that, as the real world is strange and wonderful. ~ Robert A. Heinlein

Ember Case

Hi - I'm Ember Case. I'm an author of erotic romances. Paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, historical - I love them all.

I'm also a wife, a mom, a small business owner, and a passionate volunteer to various organizations, including several chapters of the Romance Writers of America.

I'm probably off somewhere tapping at the keyboard, and wishing I could convince the kids that "Just a sec hun" really means "Go ask your dad."
